Adhesiolysis is a surgical procedure performed to remove or break down adhesions—bands of scar tissue that form between internal organs or tissues, causing them to stick together. Adhesions can develop as a result of surgery, injury, infections, or certain medical conditions, and they may cause pain, restricted movement, or other complications depending on their location.
