Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH)

Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) is a condition characterized by the buildup of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain's ventricles (fluid-filled spaces), causing them to enlarge. Despite the increased fluid volume, the pressure inside the brain remains normal, hence the term "normal pressure" hydrocephalus. NPH primarily affects older adults and is often mistaken for other neurological conditions, such as Alzheimer’s disease or Parkinson’s disease, due to overlapping symptoms.
