Midfoot fusion

Midfoot fusion (also known as tarsal fusion) is a surgical procedure in which two or more bones in the middle of the foot are permanently joined together to eliminate motion between them. The midfoot consists of the bones that make up the arch of the foot, including the navicular, cuboid, and cuneiform bones, as well as the joints that connect them. Midfoot fusion is typically performed to treat various conditions that cause pain or instability in this part of the foot.
