Ligament reconstruction of the wrist

Ligament reconstruction of the wrist

Ligament reconstruction of the wrist is a surgical procedure used to repair or reconstruct damaged or torn ligaments in the wrist. Ligaments are strong, fibrous tissues that connect bones to each other and provide stability to the joints. In the wrist, ligament injuries can occur due to trauma (e.g., falls, car accidents), repetitive strain, or degenerative conditions. When the ligaments are severely damaged and do not heal with conservative treatments (such as rest, splinting, or physical therapy), ligament reconstruction may be required.
