Cholecystectomy

A cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gallbladder, which is typically performed to treat gallstones or other gallbladder-related conditions, such as cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder). The procedure is usually carried out under general anaesthesia and can be performed using two main techniques: laparoscopic (minimally invasive) or open surgery.
