Hoarseness

Hoarseness refers to a change in the normal voice quality, making it sound breathy, raspy, strained, or weak. It occurs when the vocal cords (also known as vocal folds) are irritated, inflamed, or damaged, which affects their ability to vibrate correctly. Hoarseness can be temporary or chronic and can result from a variety of causes.
