Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM)

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM)

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) is a method used to measure a person's blood pressure over a 24-hour period while they go about their daily activities. This provides a more accurate picture of a person's blood pressure throughout the day and night, compared to a single measurement taken in a clinician surgery. ABPM is often used to diagnose conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure) and to assess how well blood pressure is controlled in people already diagnosed with the condition.
