What happens during a Fluoroscopy?

Your clinician will explain all the details of the procedure before beginning, and ensure they have answered any questions you may have.

During the Fluoroscopy, you will be positioned on the procedure table and you may be asked to get into different positions to ensure an accurate images can be taken. You may need to move a specific body part, or hold your breath, depending on the body part being imaged.

You may be required to ingest a contrast dye, or have a contrast dye injected, to enhance visibility of specific vessels or organs. If this is required, you will be told before the procedure so you have time to ask any further questions and ensure you’re feeling comfortable about the process.
