In addition to my work at St Joseph’s Hospital, I work as a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Royal Gwent Hospital. I am the Lead for Minimal access surgery for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
I qualified in India and obtained further postgraduate training with a Masters in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (M D) before moving to the UK.
I have undergone structured postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in UK. I have also completed extensive training in general Gynaecology as well as advanced training in minimal access surgery in the UK and abroad.
I currently perform a wide range of laparoscopic gynaecological surgeries.
I work as part of the multidisciplinary pelvic pain clinic at the Royal Gwent Hospital.
I obtained a distinction for my postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Gynaecology Ultrasound from Cardiff University.
I have an interest in teaching and training in Minimal access surgery and advanced ultrasound skills including Doppler scans for investigation of ovarian cysts. I am keen to share my experience in these areas and assist the trainees.
I am the lead for Gynaecology clinical effectiveness group at Royal Gwent hospital, I am involved in continuously improving standards of patient care and remain passionate about laparoscopy, which has been the case ever since I graduated. I believe in safe and effective surgery with a minimal recovery time and it is my goal to provide high quality evidence based patient centred care.
As an active listener, I work in partnership with my patients to achieve the best possible outcomes for them.
My special interests are the management of endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain and advanced gynaecology ultrasound, vaginal surgeries including vaginal hysterectomy and pelvic floor repair.
Laparoscopy: My advanced minimal access surgery skills, enable me to perform wide range of laparoscopy which include,
Keyhole surgery results are effective, safe, require minimal recovery time, short hospital stay and reduced scarring.
Operative hysteroscopy procedures including under local anaesthesia, endometrial ablation, trans-cervical resection of endometrium and the resection of polyp (Myosure)
One stop “see and treat” hysteroscopy for abnormal uterine bleeding
Ultrasound: I am qualified in advanced Gynaecology Ultrasound.
I perform ultrasound scans during the consultation. This allows a 'one stop' approach to most gynaecological conditions, as well as providing me with vital information for the discussion of treatment options with patients.
Pelvic pain: I have expertise in the multidisciplinary management of chronic pelvic pain.
Management of fibroid, menstrual disorders, subfertility, premenstrual syndrome.
Pelvic floor surgeries for prolapse- Vaginal hysterectomy and pelvic floor repairs.
Conservative management of incontinence symptoms.
My research interests are in chronic pelvic pain, diagnosis and management of endometriosis. I have presentations and publications in these at various national and international journals.

I am married and have two children. I am enthusiastic in learning new languages and I speak several languages. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my children.
I actively participate in advocating excellence in laparoscopy, presently involved in charitable endoscopic training course in Wales.
Quality metrics
The majority of my laparoscopy procedures are discharged within 24hrs. I regularly audit my outcome data, infection, readmission, and complication rates in order to provide quality care at all times.
