Professional bio
I have had twenty-five years of training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, sixteen of which have been in the United Kingdom. I have nine years of experience as a consultant.
For the past seven years, I have been working at Royal Gwent Hospital as a Consultant and have a broad-based knowledge in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I see patients privately at St Joseph's Hospital.
My main interests now lie in the areas of ultrasound scanning, early pregnancy assessment, reproductive medicine, and minimal access surgery, in which I have actively developed my skills and I have a special interest in recurrent miscarriage.
I am proficient in both transvaginal and obstetric ultrasound scanning. I have achieved an MSc in Reproduction and Development at the University of Bristol and have a Diploma in Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasound. I was awarded the Michael Hull Prize for my dissertation for the MSc in Reproduction and Development and have completed the RCOG special skills module on ‘Ultrasound Imaging in the Management of Gynaecological Conditions’.
I established and developed the Early Pregnancy Assessment (EPAU) and Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Units (EGAU) at Nevill Hall Hospital (NHH). I was the Lead for EPAU/EGAU. I am the labour ward lead for Royal Gwent Hospital.
As a hard-working, reliable, enthusiastic, approachable person my probity is beyond reproach. I am committed to multi-professional working and can demonstrate effective team-building skills, which is evident in my recent 360° appraisals.
