Mr Gareth Llewelyn Roberts is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who focuses on treating active people with hip issues. His NHS clinic is located at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, as well as Llandough University Hospital.
Originally from Bangor, North Wales. His Orthopaedic training was in Wales, supplemented with fellowships in Bristol and London. He has visited surgeons across Europe and the USA to learn more and develop his skills.
Mr Roberts offers a regional service for hip preservation surgery. He offers hip arthroscopy, periacetabular osteotomy and open hip surgery. He also performs a high number of total hip replacements and is trained in robotic (MAKO) hip replacements.
He is a member of a team of surgeons who provide treatment for pelvic and acetabular (hip socket) fractures in South Wales. The skills he uses for these complex surgeries mean that he can perform surgery for conditions such as sacroiliac dysfunction, pubic symphysis problems and post-pregnancy pelvic pain.
Mr Roberts takes pride in giving patients the information and time they need to understand their condition so they can make informed decisions about their treatment.
