Mr Kherdaji carried out his general surgical training in Ophthalmology in Cheltenham between 2001 and 2005 and then his surgical retinal training in Western Eye Hospital in London in 2005. He continued his higher surgical fellowship in medical and surgical retinal diseases in Singapore in 2006 and was awarded International Council of Ophthalmology Fellowship to pursue further training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery Fellowship in University of San Diego, California in 2007. During that time, he also worked with a pioneering refractive surgeon at CODET Eye Centre in Mexico. He then returned home to Damascus where he set up the Eye and Ear Hospital and was the chief surgeon for cataract, corneal and refractive conditions.
In 2012 He returned to the UK with his family to work as a Consultant Surgeon within Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS with subspecialty in Primary, Cornea and Retina conditions. In 2015 Fadi and his colleagues formed Theia & Co, which offers Laser and non-Laser refractive surgery. He has been working at St Joseph's hospital since 2019.
Fadi is a high-volume cataract surgeon with over 10000 cases under his belt. He has been a premium cataract, refractive and corneal surgeon for the past 10 years. His audited results put him as one of the top surgeons in the country
