Dr Alam is a consultant physician with special interest in Stroke and Neuro-rehab. He has been been working as consultant Physician in Aneurin Bevan UHB since 2005. He has undergone his post graduate specialist training in north west deanery (Manchester). Dr Alam has extensive experience in managing stroke patients and patients with neurological illnesses and has a special interest in neuro-rehab and expertise in dealing with disability due to neurological illness and traumatic brain injury.

He has expertise in managing spasticity in Stroke, MS, Cerebral palsy and focal dystonia etc. He has run a spasticity management clinic for last 20 years and vast experience in using botulinum toxins for focal spasticity in variety of neurological conditions. 

Dr Alam is currently a clinical lead in neuro-rehab at Aneurin Bevan UHB and is also a honorary senior clinical tutor at Cardiff university and Clinical and educational supervisor for foundation year training. He also runs medicolegal practice where provide medico-legal report and acts as expert witness in neurological injuries due to variety of causes i.e. Traumatic brain injury.
