Professional bio

Dr Bundhoo completed his degree at the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 1997. Shortly after Dr Bundhoo trained in Internal Medicine in the United Kingdom and qualified as an Internal Physician in 2001 and gained his Membership at Royal College of Physicians.

In 2004, Dr Bundhoo was appointed as a cardiology trainee In the All-Wales Deanery, undertaking cardiovascular research at the Wales Heart Research Institute where he then gained his Doctorate in Medicine Degree, 2011. From 2011-2012 Dr Bundhoo participated in further specialist training in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Alberta, Canada.

Dr Bundhoo is currently working as a Consultant in General and Interventional Cardiology at the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board after being appointed in 2013. Dr Bundhoo is also the Audit Lead of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention involved in the submission of the Health Board`s coronary stenting activity to the British Cardiac Intervention Society (BCIS) and performs an average of 150 coronary stenting procedures annually.

Prior to this, Dr Bundhoo was involved with the service of delivering coronary angioplasty and stenting procedures to the patients of the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board as well as visiting Consultant Interventional Cardiologists at the University Hospital of Wales, contributing to the regional service of the primary percutaneous coronary intervention where patients suffering from heart attacks are treated with stents.

Dr Bundhoo has more than 20 years’ experience in the field of general cardiology and 15 years in the field of Interventional Cardiology.
