Job Summary
To work as part of a team providing a high-quality and varied catering service to patients, visitors and staff. Working at all times within the guidelines included in the Catering Operational Procedures and the departments HACCP. This role includes some evening and weekend working.
Key Responsibilities
• Working as part of a team assisting in the service and preparation of all catering requirements. This will include the delivery and service to ward patients, functions/hospitality and customers in the cafe. There will be some preparation and service of food within the kitchen and restaurant when required.
• Working as part of a team ensuring that all required duties are up to date and that all duties are carried out on a regular basis as directed, in line with the departmental task sheets.
• To be able to adopt a flexible approach to how and when duties are undertaken whilst ensuring that all service users are the focal point of activities.
• To assist in the service of food and drinks to patients and visitors and staff.
• To assist in daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks to ensure the Main and Ward Kitchen is hygienically clean.
• To keep the Main and Ward kitchen, food trolley and all areas hygienically clean and have a complete understanding and awareness of the statutory food safety regulations.

Essential
Maths and English GCSE
Proven ability to work on own initiative
Evidence of ability to work under pressure
Evidence of experience of working and contributing in a team
Knowledge of food safety systems, HAACP, and dealing with Allergens
Evidence of delivering a high level of customer service
Ability to always maintain a friendly and positive body language demeanour
Knowledge of COSHH
Desirable
Level 2 award in food safety or equivalent
FSA food allergy training
Relevant experience of working in a catering environment
Proven ability to communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including; patients, staff-members, visitors, suppliers and environmental health
Basic level of food preparation
