Rate of Pay: £13.15 per hour plus 12.07% WTD
Responsible to: Advanced Diagnostics Clinical Lead

Job Summary 

To assist the qualified nursing staff, radiographers and consultants under their supervision, in providing a high quality, comprehensive nursing service to all patients and users, ensuring a high standard of a patient care is maintained in a clean and safe environment. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Undertake routine tasks related to individual’s health and well being.

• Assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals’ health and wellbeing needs.

• Establish and maintain communication with people on routine care matters.

• Contribute to own personal development.

• Assist in maintaining own and others’ health and safety and security.

• Ensure own actions help to maintain quality.

• Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.

• To maintain standards of infection control within the hospital and own department and to assist patients to maintain their own infection control needs.

Person Specification 

The following specification represents the range of skills, abilities and experiences relevant to the position. Applicants are expected, at a minimum, to meet the attributes that have been identified as essential. 

Essential 

• Communicate with other members of staff and patients clearly and your personal appearance must be of a high standard, expected in a professional healthcare environment.

• Basic nursing care.

• Basic awareness of health, safety and hygiene

• English language to IELTS 7.0

• Able to work effectively as part of a team

• Flexible approach to work and working patterns

Desirable 

• NVQ Direct Care Level 2 or equivalent experience

• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant
