Job Summary
The Inpatient Bookings team provide excellent customer service, striving to exceed patients, consultants, and colleagues’ expectations. The team are responsible for booking patients into theatre in an effective way, ensuring theatres are fully utilised. We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated, self-driven team players. Working within a small team, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop new skills as well as putting existing one into practice.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide an efficient and professional service to patient’s consultants and colleagues.
• Ensure theatres are booked efficiently and within guidelines.
• Ensure the necessary appointments are made in line with internal pathways such as pre-assessment, theatre scheduling etc.
• Have excellent understanding of the patient pathways.
• Have excellent knowledge of consultants/specialties in order to maximise efficiency of bookings
• Ensure all insured patients have been pre-authorisation from insurance companies.
• Provide accurate pricing to patients.
• Ensure all data that is captured is accurate and appropriate when booking appointments.
• Alert other team members to issues that affect quality and risk.
• Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities, making suggestions on ways to improve and enhance team performance.
• Promote and act as first point of contact for customers ensuring feedback, escalating complaints when required in line with policy.
• Liaise with all departments to ensure smooth patient experience.

Essential
• Worked within call-handling sales team.
• Worked in Customer Services environment.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to the efficient working of a target-driven team.
• Good attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent IT Skills.
Desirable
• Further Education Qualification e.g. A Level, BTEC.
• Worked with CRM Systems.
• Worked in healthcare environment.
