Professional bio
After graduating from Cardiff University with a first-class honours degree in Physiotherapy, Nerissa started her career in the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. Through NHS rotations, Nerissa gained invaluable experience in many different areas of physiotherapy, including respiratory, trauma, mental health, and acute medical rehabilitation. Nerissa joined St Joseph’s Hospital in 2024 with a particular interest in orthopaedics and musculoskeletal outpatients.
Alongside her role at St Joseph’s Hospital, Nerissa worked as an Event and Performance Physiotherapist for Badminton Wales. The Welsh International Open, in particular, involved assessing and treating elite badminton athletes from all over the world.

Outside of work, Nerissa has represented Wales in badminton and likes to keep active via recreational running and CrossFit.
She also enjoys spending time with friends and attending the occasional pub quiz!
