Department: Inpatient Bookings
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, between the hours of 8am-6pm

Responsible to: Customer Services Manager
Job Summary
To lead the Inpatient Bookings team, displaying excellent leadership and customer service skills and to manage all theatre bookings, ensuring efficient use of theatres. This role will also work alongside health professionals, and you will need to interface confidently with all areas across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
As the Team Lead for the Inpatient Bookings department, you will work closely with the Customer Services Manager to deliver:
• Overseeing the day to day running of the Inpatient Booking team, allocating tasks and ensuring all bookings are booked accurately in a timely manner.
• Ensure the team achieve Targets
• Hands on with booking surgeries, answering the telephone and all other duties
• Ensure all insurance Pre authorisations are in place prior to surgeries
• Ensure all theatre lists are managed effectively including ordering of lists and staggering of admission times
• Ensure all patients are provided with full details for their surgery, including written authorisation if required
• Assist with setting up and running any third-party contracts i.e. NHS Waiting Lists
• Issuing of bespoke quotations if patients fall out of hospital criteria
• Weekly catch-up meetings with the Customer Services Manager
• Training of new staff assigned to the Team
Person Specification
Essential
• Experience of working in an administrative, clerical environment
• Organised and able to work on own initiative as well as within your team
• Experience of leading a team
• Strong IT Skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Desirable
• NVQ or equivalent in Business Administration
• Experience of the Healthcare industry
